I have visited Mudumalai about one year back.
Below mentioned are the activities we enjoyed at Mudumalai.
1, Trekking
2, Jeep safari
3, Trekking
4, Fishing
5, Birdwatching
6, Nature photography
7, Bus safari
I visited mudumalai along with my family members. We were 15people totally. We had lot of fun. We stayed at JUNGLE HOME. Itwas a beautiful cottage which accomdated 15 people easily.
But the picture on the website gives a false impression about the cottage. It is much beautifut that what it is from out side.
Trekking, fishing, birdwatching trips wear conducted by the resort owners. The food which we got there was good and rates reasonable
Especialy the Puttu and the sweet banana pakoda which they made was delicious.
The climate at this place was very pleasant not very cold or Hot.It was almost like a hill station climate.
. We booked the cottage through their website https://wildlifesanctuaryindia.com
. We took our vehicle and just travelled through the highway which passes through the Jungle. It was 1o clock in the Night. We were lucky to spot a leopard on the main road. We also spotted a heard of elephants, spotted deers, Sambar deers, Bisons and Wild boars. While we went trekking we saw Langur monkeys, Malabar Giant Squirrels which is in red colour with a long and bushy tail and a snake. We came across elephant foot prints on the trekking path. There was a river passing through the forest where we washed our feet in the river water. It was a very beautiful river.
We crossed the river after removing our slippers and holding them in hand.
We had to be care full about every move even a slight wrong foot placing will end up in slipping.
After walk another 1 Km where there was a small lake with no one around. What we could see there was 2 spotted dears drinking water in the lake , plenty of black water birds taking a dip in the water and a few small tortoise in the corner of the lake.
The back ground of the lake was thick dense forest full of greenery.
It was a wonder full location which I will not forget life long.
We carried few eatables so we sat on a grassy land near the lake and had our snacks.
There were many fishes in the shallow waters of the lake.We used our duppatas to catch these fishes but it was waste of time.
We could not even catch a single fish. The guide told us he had a special fishing net using which we will be able catch about 5 kg of fish in one dip.
He did not bring it along since we did not opt for a fishing trip.
Later we had a lazy nap.Kids enjoyed them self since they had plenty of space to play and explore.
The variety of birds exited them the most.
There was one person who had a craze for photography. He was the person who liked the place the best.
By this time all of us were totally exhausted .the guide kept on telling us we need to leave the place because it is time for the elephants to come in and drink water.
Walking back to the resort was little difficult but since the location was beautiful we managed to keep walking.
The bad part of the trek was we had to carry a 3 years old baby along which was very difficult.
So my advice to all is please do not take along babies on this trekking rout.
The trekking charges were 100Rs per person. It is slightly on the costlier side.
But we realised it was worth it after completing the trek.
These are the events that happened on the first day of our trip.
The resort people informed us that OOty is only 45 Km from the resort.
So we planned to visit ooty on the second day.
Early morning by 6 am we left the resort and reached Ooty by 9 Oclock.
We had a pleasant boating.and later visited all tourist spots in Ooty.
There was a place called 7th Mile. That was the favourite place of mine in Ooty.
I did not like other places in ooty since it was too crowded.;
The best part of the trip was the trekking trip.
Note: At the time we visited Jungle home It was also available for Sale.
Since Myself and my husband liked the place we have bought it.
