THE WEDDING:
Sajid Nadiadwala`s. ’’Mujhse Shaadi Karogi’’ (’’will you marry me’’), directed by David Dhawan, stars Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar, Priyanka Chopra, Amrish Puri, Rajpal Yadav, Kader Khan, Amrita Arora and Shefali Jariwala.This is the first time that we will be watching two muscular heroes Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar for the first time, that also in a typical David Dhawan comedy movie.The story of the film sounds as if it is like the film ’’Deewaana Mastaana’’ (Anil Kapoor, Govinda and Juhi Chawla), but does this film suceeds in entertaining you as much as ’’Deewaana Mastaana’’ did?
THE BRIDE, HER GROOM(S) and THEIR PERFORMANCES:
1.Suitor No.1-Samir(Salman Khan):Samir is a very short tempered guy.He is a baywatch in Goa, who falls in love with Rani, a beautiful girl but his astrologer tells him that the coming days will be difficult for him.Salman Khan with a new hairstyle (long and silky hair), is back after the dull movie ’’Garv’’.I think that lately, he has been taking some acting classes, maye that`s why he has started acting well.Earlier, in ’’Garv’’, he gave a clapworthy performance and now in this movie he again impresses you.If he was irritating while doing comedy earlier in films such as ’’Dulhan Hum le Jaayenge’’, then this time he does manage to entertain you, without getting on your nerves.He does a fantastic job, as Samir.
2.Suitor No.2-Sunny(Akshay Kumar):Sunny is the tough competition which Samir has to face, as he also falls in love with Rani and does every possible thing to get Rani`s attention, as well as to get Rani.Akshay Kumar as the wicked Sunny, does an excellent job.His comedy timing is worth a mention.His face expressions are wonderful and a seasoned actor such as him, could have only done this role.The character of Sunny suits him to the T.This is one of the best performances, in recent times.
3.The Bride-Rani(Priyanka Chopra):Rani means queen and as her name suggests, she is not the queen of only one heart, but she is the queen of two hearts.One heart is of Samir and the other heart is of Sunny, but who will win her heart?Priyanka Chopra, doesn`t have a role which demanded her to display histrionics, still she does her job well.At least, she is not wasted as she was in ’’Plan’’ or ’’Asambhav’’.She looks gorgeous, and this is the most beautiful Priyanka Chopra you have ever seen.
Rajpal Yadav, has double roles-one of an astrologer and the other of Eagle Gang member.He is amazing, in both the roles, but as the astrologer he is simply hilarious.Thumbs up to him for this bravura performance.He is the perfect replacement for the rather annoying Johnny Lever.Amrish Puri as Rani`s father lens able support.Kader Khan is also excellent.Satish Shah gets no scope to perform.Amrita Arora, in her special appearance as Samir`s ex-girlfriend, is fine.Shefali ’’kaanta laga’’ Jariwala looks good, in a small role, and that`s all.Rani`s pet dog, Tommy is also cute.
THE MARRIAGE SAGA:
Samir is a heart-broken guy whose ex-lover left him alone.Currently, Samir is a lifeguard in Goa, who falls in love with Rani, a young girl, at first sight.He dreams of getting married to her.One day, his astrologer, Raj, tells him that there are lots of difficulties coming his way.The name of that difficulty is Sunny, who shares a room with Samir and wants to share his love, Rani, as well.Yes!Sunny also falls in love with Rani.Then starts a battle between both Samir and Sunny.Whenever, Samir tries to do anything good, it turns into bad, because of Sunny`s evil plans.Whenever Samir tries to impress Rani, he falls flat because there is one mastermind behind all this and that is Sunny, who always walks away with all the credit.Will the heart-broken Samir, whose ex-girlfriend left him, finally get Rani, or this time too, he will be the loser?Will Sunny succeed in his evil plans?With whom will Rani get married-Samir or Sunny?To know the answers to these IMPORTANT questions, watch ’’Mujhse Shaadi Karogi’’.
THE WORK OF THE PANDITS:
David Dhawan is back after so much of flops and failure, but this time he succeeds to entertain you.He is back with the touch which he had lost since about 2 years.Although, the film may instantly remind you of ’’Deewaana Mastaana’’, there are still some very enjoyable and different moments here.Right from the scene where Sunny enters, the viewers will get involved in the film.The cat and mouse games between Samir and Sunny are thoroughly enjoyable.The scenes where Samir tries to impress Rani`s ’’very proper’’ type of father, but ends up hitting him accidentally are very entertaining.The scene where Sunny kidnaps Rani`s dog and puts the blame on Samir, is very interesting.Another hilarious scene is the one where Samir`s grandmother`s glasses break down and she cannot see so she is mistaken and thinks that Rani`s mom is Rani.The cricket stadium part, which comes towards the end, is really exciting.That is the best part of the movie, and this is where the film gets different from the other so-called comedy movies.Screenplay is gripping and the script by Anees Bazmi is also well-written.Although, there is nothing new in the story but the way it has been presented is different and the events which keep on coming one after another make for a good viewing.The writer has really done his job well.Rumi Jaffrey`s dialogues are well-penned.There are many witty lines which make this film a rib-tickling comedy.Editing is fine but the film drags too much in the second half.The cat and mouse game after sometime, gets too much.Action is quite good.Sanjay.F.Gupta`s cinematography is wonderful.He has captured Mauritius exquisitely on the celluloid.Sajid-Wajid`s music is just about okay.’’’Aaja Sohniye’’, is the best song in the film and it is pictursied brilliantly on Akshay Kumar, Salman Khan and Priyanka Chopra.’’Laal Duppatta’’ is also a visual treat.’’Jeene Ke Hain chaar din’’ has been picturised in a very bright and colourful manner on a beach, on Salman Khan.
ON THE WHOLE:
’’Mujhse Shaadi Karogi’’ is a full ’paisa-vasool’ film.It is a complete entertainer, without any loud comedy but with some slapstick comedy.Of course, there is no logic in the movie, that is why it is recommended that you leave your brains at your homes.This weekend you will surely be entertained, so without any harm you can watch this film, oh sorry wedding ceremony!
