Recently on a work trip I had to board a flight at 4 a.m.
To my surprise the moment I got off the cab and walked into the domestic airport at Santacruz I had to rub my eyes to check whether I am at the right place or not.
The transformation of the domestic airport is incredible.
The moment you walk in it gives you the feel of any international airport.
To begin with there is enough space for people to wait outside before walking in to check in.
The glass look inside gives it the much needed spacious feel and elegant look.
There are ample counters to check in without people colliding into each other.
The duty free area also is well done with all adequate shops (cant say the same about the price though!!!)
After this great awe there had to be an anti climax.
Even at that hour there were quite a few flights which were to take off.
And the security check was just not prepared for it.
People were actually pushing and shoving like they would while boarding a train.
When the security cop on duty tried to separate the lines and make a different one for women, an old man was at the verge of abusing the cop.
Chill old man!!! The only reason for doing that was because there were fewer women and hey women do deserve a little chivalry.
Well that completely shook me out of my sleep and I finally realised that we will still be the same no matter how much our outer look changes.
India is such an over populated country with people who have a refugee attitude and that is something that sadly will never change.
This in turn lead to me taking a Air Deccan flight which was as disastrous but more on that in the next review.
Happy flying
