July 26th, 27th and 28th - Bombay has seen the worst 3 days ever so far and yet the spirit of Bombayites isLife goes on and you bet it goes on with a smile. No electricity no communication means, yet this city was alive. We have read many stories of people who helped saved so many lives and others in so many ways. Id like to mention some who might not have been mentioned about but definately were noticed:o)
The bunch of guys at 7 bunglows traffic lights who were standing in the rains with umbrellas and guiding the traffic which sides to proceed and which road to avoid bearing in mind the size of the vehicle they were driving:o) THANKS a ton guys cos you saved us and many more from floating in the flooded roads. There was a group of guys who were at the Saurashtra traffic lights who were helping those who were walking for god knows how many hours in getting a ride to wherever closest possible to their destinations:o) HOME!
There were 2-3 families in Rajkumar Corner building on J P Road who helped people who were taking shelter in the building stairwell by offering food and water. They also made a long rope out of everything from a plastic rope to a saree and helped people who were swimming in the flood inside the building compound to get into the building on a higher floor:o)
These were instances I found out about personally. I am sure there are many more and all Id like to say to all these wonderful people of Bombay is HATS OFF TO YOU ALL! I salute the spirit of of this city which is made of people like you.
Bombay - YOU ROCK!
