I was sitting at home twiddling my thumbs and occassionally browsing through some reviews on this site when I noticed a few reviews on Bombay... Now that should be something worth writing about I thought, especially since I been living in Bombay for so long.. hmm.. actually its called Mumbai now... Bombay in its self has become a part of History so to speak... probably a thousand years from now Historians would wonder what happened to the Island of Bombay, and if they read all the flattering reviews about this city on this site, very soon Bombay will become like the Lost city of Atlantis... theyll probably start dreaming up theories like it sank into the sea or that global warming caused the oceans to rise and Bombay was covered with water and lost forever.... there I go rambling off the topic... I tend to do that alot, keeps me entertained while Im writing a review.
Okay back to the topic on hand... Bombay.... well I think I mentioned it before that Bombay is an Island... so if you come visiting be prepared to see some water... not too much just some water at a distance. Dont bother bringing swimming trunks because I dont think anyone swims in the water anywhere close to a 100 miles of Bombay for fear of a million kinds of water pollutants and god knows what else. What you should bring along with you are several good books to read and a walkman with lots of cassettes. Because the day time traffic in Bombay is a killer... if you want to drive any place be sure to do it either very early morning or afternoon or best late night, anytime near office opening or closing hours and youll be stuck in a sea of cars for hours. That is probably one of the reasons that the night life in Bombay is the most famous... any other time in the day and youll be dead before you even reach some place though now Bombay seems to be growing flyovers all over the place... at the moment most are just half built so rather than moving traffic faster they are just taking up 2/3rd of the road and slow traffic down 30 times.
By now you are probably wondering how anyone manages to get around in Bombay... I often wonder that myself while Im sitting in the car for hours or in the trains.... now thats a faster way to travel in Bombay but then again you have to be prepared to forget any concept of personal space before entering into the train. People use trains in Bombay with the same kind of arrangement as bees use in a bee hive... everyone is on top of the other person.. its pretty common to find people leaving their foot wear behind on the train after they have gotten off.
Im getting the feeling Im off topic again... but lets see I covered the sea.. the traffic... the trains... and even mentioned the night life somewhere....
Getting to the weather its great from November to March, other than that its either way to hot or raining.. you pick which you prefer. Some like it hot some like it wet makes Bombay sound pretty sexy huh ?
Now Im losing interest in the topic again so I think Ill end here with a fake promise of more later.
Incase I didnt mention....

If you notice the way Ive answered the last few questions youll realise Ive made my self into a senior citizen on a 2 month luxury honeymoon with more than 20 other people. Just picture that and youll never want to ever come to bombay and if you are in bombay youll wanna GET OUT as fast as you can.
There... with that Ive done my bit to reduce the cars on the roads and the people in trains and the general population in Bombay. I deserve something for that. Reedemable gift cheques of online sites would be nice. You could email them from my profile page.
