Being born and brought up in MUMBAI, this city is my home.
My life begins and will end here.
I’m a true Mumbaikar…be it the attitude or behavior or style.
Truly, despite the tourist charm there are the so called ‘ Mumbaikar qualities ‘that make this city a special place ..Really special!
For instance,
1.If you ask any trespasser about any directions he’ll give you brief and precise directions. If he doesn’t know it he’ll plainly say ‘I don’t know!’
Now you will wonder why I am saying all this but believe me, there have been incidents where I have been answered rudely or have been mislead in some other cities in other parts of the country.
2.Be it any calamity or a terror attack …although each one strongly condemns such mishaps, their ‘ready to bounce back to routine attitude’ is praised all over.
1.COMMUTING:One of the things that makes me proud of is the transport facilities here
So quick. So up-to date.Be it the B.E.S.T. Be the railways or the local cabs.
You will never feel isolated in any part of the city. Even the auto-rickshaws are spotted rendering services to many up and down the city .
2.THEME PARKS: If you have been to Mumbai but haven’t been to Esselworld, what have you seen then? If not Esselworld even places like ‘Fantasy Land’ or ‘Suraj water park’
can make your day.If you are a bunch of active people and have a full day at your disposal head towards these places .
3.RESTAURANTS: I have been to many cities in India but failed to find a city which matches Mumbai in its variety of restaurants and food outlets. If you are a Pizza freak you can get yourself comfy at Pizza hut, Dominoes, smokin Joes and alike . If you wish for a continental or Thai/Malaysian cuisine you can check out the Taj,
the Oberoi., Bombay blues, The Leela .Don’t want to spend much? Don’t worry.
Even the local restaurants which say ____ restaurant and bar [AC] can give you a decent meal.If you really want to enjoy the fast food corners I recommend Sadguru in Chembur, Peninsula at Sion , Gypsy at Dadar, Vithal Bhelwala at C.S.T. and ..The list is never ending.p.s:Try the French fries at McDonalds
- THE BEACHES: the Zuhu beach., Dadar chowpathy the Girgaon chowpathy are worth a visit. But if you wish to dive in the sea-waters I would honestly say that Mumbai is not the place. Maybe …the crowd or the unhygienic conditions may disappoint you. But yes don’t forget to try the chaat at any of these places. You will find yourself coming back and again to relish these.
5.EDUCATIONAL TOURS: If you are out to trace the historic events or know more about Mumbai as a whole I recommend the MUMBAI DARSHAN travels. In a day they show you maximum historic spots and art galleries and monuments .You will truly get a fulfilling darshan of Mumbai city. For those interested in space and science the Nehru space and science center is worth a visit. If your little sister wants to admire fishes take her to Taraporewalla aquarium.
6.FILM THEATRES: With the recent Imax Adlabs dome theatre 3D experience is at a stone’s throw. Located in Wadala this theatre also is a multiplex featuring four more movies at a time. The other multiplexes in the city are the cine multiplexes.
7.SHOPPING CENTRES: How can I forget one of the most important part of the tour?
Branded shopping can be done at Shoppers stop, Akbarali’s, Crossroads, Pantaloons, Lifestyle …If you are opting for sasta and really sasta maal check out the fashion street
and Linking road .but beware that though cheap, these outfits are junk and may not last for long. If you are the kind who changes the wardrobe every 2 months then buy from here.
Okay. I am signing out now. Hope this information was of some use to you.
Ps: comments and rating are always welcome.
