Bad ... Terrible ....

Dear Bombayites/Mumbaiites,

Your Bombay/Mumbai is a true representation of all what India is – morbidly overpopulated, chaotic, communal, and horridly dirty. True, a lot of celebrities have made it their home, the rich and famous have made it their home – they carouse in the city what with a lack of a better alternative.

• This is one city where the rich-poor divide is at its supreme best. Hutments and skyscrapers co-exist simultaneously.

• Prostitution, beggary are the maximum here.

• The Shiv-Sena thinks it is its birthright to openly deride Muslims and other communities. It regularly flexes its muscles against the lowest strata of the society in its name of a Marathi state.

• Why are Muslims the targets of so many communal excesses?

• Ever seen the traffic? Been in the local trains? A case of planning and infrastructure gone bust.

• Your neighbour dies and you will not even know about it. Reason? You are so busy in your world that you become immune to the pleasure and pain of someone staying right opposite your house.

What you do see in Bombay/Mumbai is a profligate lifestyle of the rich, poor, and middle-class alike. Money is found aplenty in this city either by wrongful means or the loan racket that is slowly but gradually luring everyone. The city lacks principles and revels in sex and sin. Drinking is a pastime no longer of the rich alone. Anyone who has anything above fifty rupees will be seen purchasing a bottle of an intoxicant.

Why just the Sena, the entire bureaucratic and political system of Bombay/Mumbai is in a mess. People come to this city with dreams in their eyes but spend a lifetime striving, yearning and getting lured.

The only saving grace that I find in this city is the fact that the people staying here are professional. PROFESSIONAL. Professional work ethics are really supreme. That is probably one of the major reasons why this city is considered to be the financia capital of India.

Otherwise, I truly detest this city.

Sincerely,

Ghaznavi
