Concept of the movie is very simple. It’s a story about a man who tries to become MBBS in order to fulfill his father’s expectations. But unfortunately he ends up becoming a bhai. Now, Whenever his father comes to meet him.. his dhobighat gets transformed into a hospital. Daddy believes that his son is a doctor until he decides to tie him a knot. He drags his son to see the girl. And bhidu, ussi din apne bhai ki pol khul jati hai !. Family faces an insult. And at the same moment, frustrated dad leaves the son.
Possessed by the desire to please father, our Munnabhai decides to take an admission into mumbai’s top medical college to become MBBS!
In the hospital, he cures the patients in his own style leaving all the doctors amused. He adds life to boring hospital. Now, whole hospital including cleaner to nurse loves him. But the Din wants him out of the college to maintain the discipline. Blessed with the numerous hilarious moments, the movie keeps you laughing till the end.. bole to.. ek dum jhakass !
Sab ka kaam..ek dum taka tak !
Even though the movie is directed by Rajkumar Hirani, presence of Vidhu Vinod Chopra can be felt during the emotional scenes. As the storyline is pretty simple, screenplay has to take the driver’s seat. And the job is very well done by Rajkumar Hirani, Lajan Joseph and Vidhu Vinod Chopra.
Movie does have couple of unnecessary songs, which dilute the pace at times.
Acting department is lead by our macho Sanju baba and very well supported by his best friend, circuit(Arshad Warsi ) and the Din of college(Boman Irani). Sanju baba has done the same kind of role in khoobsurat but the tapori touch in this movie gives him a different look.
Gracy singh delivers a controlled performance after her role in Armaan.
Jimmy Shergill impresses in a short role as a cancer patient.
It is really great to watch legendary Sunil Dutt sharing the big screen with his son. All the father and son sequences were executed very well and are worth watching.

The fun begins right from the first shot of the movie. And when apna Munnabhai enters the college, it gets multiplied by 100 times. Just take a look how Munnabhai transforms the college..
# Munnabhai clears the entrance exam & even manages to top the list… don’t ask how :)
# Munnabhai enters into his hostel room with TV, refrigerator, Beer bottles, AC & the list goes on.
# Munnabhai just loves to become a ragging victim. He ‘asks’ his seniors to rag him. Things get the U turn & end up with juniors ragging seniors !!
# He starts the tradition of hugging people to spread happiness, no matter if the person is floor cleaner.
# And who said that coma patient doesn’t listen. Munnabhai can make him walk & talk with his affection.
# What? Your old grandpa is not taking his food? Ask Munnabhai, he knows how to make him eat while playing carom in the midnight.
# If you are a Munnabhai, you can do anything. You can even arrange a cabre for a cancer patient well inside the general ward!!
Besides all these truly hilarious moments, the sequences between Munnabhai & circuit (Arshad Warsi) steal the show.
The list goes on.. but I want you to laugh in theater and not in front of this monitor !
