I thought I ’ll write about Munnar now even though it has been 3yrs since I last went there, coz the memories a still green and fresh like the place itself...... 5 of us decided to go on a trip and we were scratching our heads coz we weren’t able to finalize a place, when somebody told us why don’t you try the place which comes in the Tea Advert.... then we found out that it was a place called Munnar....

We packed our bags, booked a qualis and moved on from Chennai to Munnar.. It was a 16 hr drive and it was fun coz we were enjoying our drinks in the vehicle.... When we reached we were amazed by the beauty of this place whic unlike other Hill stations was still a VIRGIN(Not used by most people and it was very clean).......

So here we go a few things about Munnar which might help you...

One of the most popular hill stations in India, Munnar is situated at the confluence of three mountain streams - Mudrapuzha, Nallathanni and Kundala. Located at 1600 Mts above sea level, this was once the summer resort of the erstwhile British Government in South India.

Sprawling tea plantations, picture book towns, winding lanes, trekking and holiday facilities make Munnar a unique experience. Munnar is essentially a tea town. The tea plantations have now been taken over by the Tata Tea Company. The visitor is greeted with miles and miles of unending tea plantations on entry into Munnar. Among the exotic flora found in the forests and grasslands here is the Neelakurinji a flower which bathes the hills in blue colour once every twelve years. The Neelakurinji, will bloom next in 2006 AD. Munnar also has the highest peak in South India - Anamudi - which towers over 2695 Mts and is an ideal spot for campers who like to do some trekking.
