Munnar---------a beauty spot

I got an oppurtunity to visit munnar yesterday. this is the second time iam visiting munnar , found more crowded than before. We decided to explore munnar and decided to concetrate on the outskirts of munnar. we moved out of the town and went to a place called Anayirankal dam. Dam is surrounded by lush green tea plantation, making it a beautiful spot for picnic. I beleive the long streched grass lands of munnar make it different from other hillstation of india. There are different other places of visit in munnar , which includes Eco point, Raja malai where you can see NeelaKurunji which flowers only once in 12 years.

when we talk about munnar . we need to talk about Marayoor 40 km from town. Marayoor’s fragrance reaches to the toilets all over the world. The largest natural sandal plantation of Kerala is here. During the trip an encounter with a herd of gaurs is a possibility. They frequent to the plantations and venture out to main road to claim its ownership.

Chinnar wild life santury lies 60 km from Munnar and 20 km from Marayoor. Taste the wildlife here and compare with elsewhere. Elephants, sambars, spotted deers, gaurs, wild pigs, giant gnizzled squirrels, tigers, panthers, peacocks etc sighted here. If lucky, the legendary ‘white bison of Manjampatti’ may be sighted. Forest Department arranges trekking.

Munnar is know as ’KASHMIR OF SOUTH’ , and this place worth for the sobriquet given to it. I will recomend munnar to be a good tourist spot but along with that ill always suggest to have ur reservation done before coming as there is a very few good hotels around munnar.
