I had been to Munnar in the month of May. Before going there to Munnar, some of people discouraged me to go to Kerala in summer, as their perception about kerala was that it is hot and humid place, uncomfortable for visit in summers.
However, things were all together different.Munnar is beautiful place surrounded by lush green mountains, tea gardens, pleasant weather, excellent hotels, hospitable people, and good transport facilities for sight seeing and all these at a moderate price. I stayed at hotel Sienna Village on the out skirts of the Munnar.
The hotel is surrounded by beautiful topography and excellent service. Local transport is provide by hotel on request charging you fairly (No exorbitant charges). There are lot of places to visit around Munnar roughly in the radius of 50 KMS. Buy a local map and information booklet of Munnar so that you are well aware of the places that you wish to visit. Except BSNL no mobile phone works there so you are out of worries and no disturbance.
For shoppers I recommend people visiting Munnar to buy spices, Tea and Coconut products.Reserve at least 4 days to go places around Munnar. Believe me I recommend you to carry some warm clothing as you may need it in summer too!!!Overall, it is worth to visit this place. So happy holidays. Enjoy!!!!!!!
