Beware of Musafir.com travel packages

I booked an Eid getaway to Georgia from 23rd to the 26 of September 2015 and I must say that I was disappointed with the package that I booked since Musafir.com claims to be UAE’s first premium-experience travel website as stated in the ‘About’ section of the site.

I agree that the email correspondence was good with Musafir.com Staff and I received all the documentation prior to my departure however I was extremely disappointed upon arrival.

Firstly the guide from Exotours who was to meet us did not welcome us properly, when I went up to him since he was holding up a Musafir sign and informed him that I booked on Musafir.com, he just gave an angry expression and told me to stand over there where other members of the group had assembled in a rude way.

We were then taken to the hotel and upon arrival David from Exotour drove off with no instruction as to when we would meet again the next day for our tour of the city, what time, and where the group should assemble.

The next day I happened to wander down near the reception around 9:50 am and saw that the bus was parked outside and David running up and down the hotel to gather everyone. We were to wait 15 min for everyone to board the bus and during that time David made remarks like “I’m not waiting anymore, in 5 min we will leave and others can miss the tour if they don’t come within that time”.

We hit the road and were informed that the cable cars were not working for the last 10 days to go up to the Narikala Fortress so we had to walk everywhere, I have no problems walking but this should have been communicated earlier as there were some old people in the group.

David had knowledge of the place we visited but was poor in communication and no one could understand the history behind the attractions. In certain areas he would give us exactly half an hour at each location so either there was not enough time to explore or to take photographs.

We finished the entire city tour in 3 hours by 1 o clock we were back in the Hotel and the reason is in the itinerary it says walk down Shardeni street, visit souvenir shops and take a stroll through Rustaveli Avenue, we didn’t have time to do any of this which is false promises made as a description in the tour itinerary. In the end I along with several other members in the group had to resort to exploring the city on our own. I strongly recommend changing the supplier and finding good guides who speak English and who can explain the history properly, also show an itinerary that is not false advertising and lives up to the promises that Musafir.com prides itself in which is great choice, no-nonsense convenience and a premium experience.
