My feudal Lord

"My Feudal Lords" is an autobiogaphy of Pakistani lady;belonging to the so-called elite society of Pakistan.

I happened to read this book a few days ago from now and it was quite engrossing.

Tehmina Durrani, the author, was one of the few wives of Mustafa Khar-once the governor of Punjab, Pakistan and also one of the most influential and strong politician Pakistan has ever seen.

The book starts with depicting the childhood of the author - about her family, how she was brought up and then touches or rather raises questions on the Pakistani society that are yet to be answered.

Her book gives us a brief yet clear glimse of how Pakistan is ruled by a handful of Feudal lords who manupulates the religion and uses their power and authority according to their needs. She also addresses the plight of women in Pakistan who finds their hand tied behind their back in a conservative pakistani society.

Her books depicts her personal struggles and also the vices and bad practices that are prevelant in the pakistani society. This book didn’t go down too well with the fundamentalist, conservative society not only for the soclal contents but also probably for depicting private, personal events. A must read for woman as well as man.
