Into the Pit and out of the Realm of Fear

Tehmina Durrani is the daughter of the former Governor of the State of Pakistan, and former Chairman of Pakistan International Airlines, S.U.Durrani. She is currently married to Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, former Chief Minister of Punjab, and brother of Nawaz Sharif, former Prime Minister of Pakistan.

My Feudal Lord is a narration of the traumatic and ghastly experiences of this Lady, when she was married to her so called Lover and second husband Ghulam Mustafa Khar.

Into the Pit and out of the realm of fear is a brief analysis of her plight and misery and a well deserved applause to her decision to leave her Husband Mr. Ghulam Mustafa Khar.

Married to her first Husband Anees Khan, whom she was infatuated by, she bore him Tanya Khan. The happiness of being a mother for the first time and having been responsible for bringing a new life into this world, the feelings were inexplicable. Unaware of what lay ahead of her, she willingly fell into the seductive trap of Mustafa Khar, even as she was a witness to his former wife Sherry’s(who bore him Bilal)traumatic and pitiable condition. Marriage to him made her part with the custody of Tanya, because Anees was not willing as he considered Mustafa to be a potential threat to their a daughter’s existence.

First encounter to Mustafa’s real violent and abusive self, left her shocked. Having been introduced to his darker side, Tehmina thought that there was no end to his crazy violent actions. Thereafter being a witness and a victim to his brutalities made her revolt against his powers->once while Tehmina was cooking, Mustafa turned red with anger on not being able to convince Tehmina on some talk, and tried to beat her up, her resistance provided him the idea that she was not willing to suffer in silence. Mustafa here, forms a figure about which the reader might have a view in the mind that how come a person could be so brutal to have done such things as beat females or for that matter order his servants to put red chilly powder into one of his female slave’s private parts.Thats incredibly disgusting!

Then she comes to know of a secret affair between Mustafa and her very own sister Adila. The Ground beneath her feet starts to shake and suddenly is awfully unstable, on getting to know that Adila is infact stealing the limelight by physically seducing Mustafa and putting her marriage at stake. Constantly lying and being physically involved with Adila, Mustafa is slowly loosing grip over Tehmina.By this time Tehmina has given him Naseeba Khar and Nisha Khar(their children).

Mustafa’s infidelity leads to Tehmina demanding Divorce and going and living elsewhere. Constant persuation brings her back into the pit, Mustafa providing her reasons that another child bearing may bring back peace in their lives.Ali Khar and Hamza Khar are thereafter born to Mustafa and Tehmina Khar.

Tehmina faces physical problems due to excessive childbirth and indifferent Mustafa is treated like a king although not in his house but in Prison. On one of their meetings, Mustafa forces himself sexually over Tehmina and she is wincing in pain, due to a recent operation to correct her medical illness. In the meantime Adila chapter is opened again, even after she being married. This was the time when her grandmother died, her only supporter and the ray of hope, the only human being whom she thought really cared for her. Her loss weakened her quite a lot. Irritated and disgusted Tehmina finally decides on leaving Mustafa forever and never returning back. She is deprived of the custody of her 4 children with Mustafa, which leaves her heartbroken. Mustafa makes Tehmina realise that she is nothing without him, he has given her status, respect, a friend circle of affluent people.

*Thats when it triggers off Tehmina’s anger and she decides on writting this book.

*Speaking about the applause on this decision of writting a book against Mr. Ghulam Mustafa Khar, I think it needed a lot of courage and determination, for a simple reason that Mustafa was a national leader and quite obviously very powerful. This country or any country doesn’t just give you the rights to cook up stories about just anything, be it true or false. If it hurts the sentiments of some readers, one should be ready to take up the responsibility for explaination and face the consequences. And writting this book for obvious reasons did invite a lot of contradiction on the part of the followers of Mustafa Khar. Actually some thing of this degree written by a women from pakistan is a real raw deal. and must be respected for her work.
