Definitely worth a watch !

The film of course talks the most popular post-9/11 prejudices of our times, While most of the global terrorists may be Muslims - all Muslims aren’t terrorists. And that no religion, including Islam, preaches violence against the innocent.

The way it shows how Muslims were treated post 9/11 is not exaggeration but a true picture what is seen not also in US but everywhere. The first scene where Sharukh is frisked at the aiport , that reminded me that even in real life sharukh was frisked in US airport.

My Name Is Khan’ begins with Rizwan as a child with his mother in Mumbai and ends with cheers from the US’ first African American president in a crowded rally.

Rizwan (Sharukh) grew up as a kid along with his mom and brother. He moved to be with his brother in the US, after his mother’s death. He also grew up with a mental challenge, Asperger’s syndrome. Rizwan appears to have a problem dealing with crowded spaces, loud colours, intimate hugs, expressing emotions, or voluntarily reacting to common external stimuli. His other skills though – grasp of factual knowledge -- seem much superior to normal humans.

It’s from his mother that Rizwan learns his first lessons of humanity “There are only two kind of people in the world: GOOD people who do good things and BAD people who do bad things. Yes it’s true that as time have passed we humans and made our own definition of good and bad.

Karan Johar can only make this movie and sharukh and no other start could have given justice to the movie like this. Karan from his romantic movies now also would be counted for this type of movie. Hats off to Karan and team.

If Shahrukh lives and breathes Rizwan in what is one of his finest roles, Kajol as Mandira, the vivacious single mother, is also good – as always. The chemistry between them if not always crackling, then heartwarming.

I am not saying that it is the best movie made ever but this one’s worth it coz it’s from the heart and in this world of terrorism on the rise in context of religion. It would make all think whether it’s actually in the name of religion or there is something else to it
