Myntra - Much ado about nothing!

Buying fashion accessories from the internet through the online shops have been a trend lately because it is highly convenient, we get a wide variety to choose from and finally, everything can be done from the smartphone or computer itself. And since we have been talking about fashion store, one cannot deny that Myntra is a giant in this sector that has established itself as a major fashion online retailer since a long time. However lately, Myntra has severely lost its market owing to the duplicacy of products and its expensive tags.

I had shopped a few times earlier from Myntra but nowadays it doesn’t live up to the expectation. Here are a few reasons you can skip Myntra in case you are considering to crowd your wardrobe with some cool summer stuffs –

1.) Too pricey – Now that is something we cant ignore. If we insist on quality, we got to pay the price right? I agree. But what happens in Myntra is completely beyond fair. I mean Myntra does sell T-shirts in the range of Rs.200 but they are something that will be used to wipe the house after just a few months. If you are willing to buy some decent and lasting clothes, be sure that the price will go higher than Rs.700 for a simple T-shirt which is too high according to other sites. Non-brand and lesser known brand clothings can be a little more cheaper here with some quality.

2.) Diminishing quality – A lot of the reviews here have been talking about the diminishing quality of Myntra and its products. I absolutely agree to this point. Recently, the jeans I bought from Myntra from the brand of Denim had its colour worn out considerably after just a few washes. Besides, the T-shirts I had ordered around the price range of Rs.400-Rs.500 were of superiorly low quality.

3.) No Cash on Delivery below 500 – Now at this stage when all the online shopping sites make a cash on delivery available for as low as Rs.100 products, Myntra should definitely learn something. First of all there is an additional charge for products ordered below Rs.500 which is pretty annoying and secondly, the cash on delivery is not available. I don’t understand why did they remove this feature. Earlier it was available for all products and quite helpful as well. This feature removed has hampered a heavy range of customer from Myntra.

4.) Unneccessary VAT – Now paying the government is his right but when the same thing starts to bother you, it becomes pretty annoying. Nott only do you have to pay for the products, but also an extra VAT which is pretty annoying. Together with VAT the product becomes a useless buy. Moreover Myntra has an extra cost of VAT, I don’t know why. I had been scrolling Snapdeal for a flying machine jeans priced around Rs.2400, inclusive of VAT. However Myntra had the exact same model for Rs.2500 plus the VAT amount which made it almost Rs.2700. Too much for nothing.

Recommendation – Don’t buy from this site. The products are good as long as they belong to a brand. The moment you are buying a less known brand stuff, you are surely at a loss, in terms of quality as well as price. Other fashion stores provide a far better deal. So skip it if you can.
