Myntra being stubborn

I was a regular buyer of shirts and shoes from Myntra. I liked them due to the wide range of brands on offer despite the price being towards the higher side. Their delivery was prompt and return policy effective.

All was well in the world till they decided to become a mobile app-only shopping platform from 15-May-2015 and shut down their website. I vehemently oppose this move.

It is very difficult to browse the app and keep tabs simultaneously on multiple products. The installation of the app gives the company permission to mine your data and use it for targeted customer delivery and segmentation. It also forces push notifications and reminders which are irritating. I am unable to compare products and prices across multiple e-retail services due to which I may lose out on a deal.

The main reason for Myntra to take such a move was to reduce the burden burden of website maintenance and in turn the cost to become more profitable at the expense of the consumer.

I am happy though as after this decision, Myntra had recorded a 10% drop in its sales a week after it shut down its website. Things further worsened when it announced a sale day and the app had numerous technical glitches such as limited connectivity, app freezes, shopping bag page not reflecting items added, issues post a recent app update, problems with returns and refunds, and many more.

I have heard that Myntra is planning to bring back its website. I will be happy if it does but till then I do not recommend it for use in its current state. That is how much I disagree with its app only strategy. Kindly rate my review and leave your comments. Cheers!
