India is a great country with so many wonderful places to visit. I’ll br tired of writing if I started to write about good places to visit in India from Kashmir to Kanyakumari and Bombay to Bengal. Mysore is a very beautiful place to visit among the places which I have visited in India till now......
Location & Best time to Visit
Hardly few hours drive from the silicon valley of india(Bangalore) and is well communicated with bangalore with Bus services. In my knowledge Mysore is very much famous for two important things those are Vrindaban garden and the Mysore king’s palace. It’s a cool and beautiful place to visit in the month of October and November.
My encounter with Mysore
I had been to Mysore in 1995. It was a tour to a few south-indian places like Kodaikanal, Pondicherry, Minaskhi Temple, kanyakumari, Trivandum, etc. Each place has it’s uniqueness but Mysore is the place I liked most. I have visited three most important places in Mysore; they are Vrindabam Garden, Mysore king’s palace and Tipu Sultan’s Grave. But the best place among these is the Mysore king’s palace; in my opinion. If you really want to see how much luxorious life the kings used to live in the past; then you must must must visit the Mysore king’s palace. The king’s palace is situated in an area of few acres. The tourists have to remove their shoes at the entrance of the palace and to walk 500 meters to reach the palace. The places I liked a lot in the palace are the Magic Glass Room, the King’s court, etc. The palace on over all is a very nice place to visit. Remember..... You can not take photographs of anything over there. In fact the security guards asked me politely to keep my camera with at the counter at the entrance of the palace.(The counter is specially meant for the tourists to keep their cameras and carry bags.) There are two big elephant heads on each side of the walls of the palace at the entrance.
The Virdaban garden is another wonderful place in Mysore specially in the evening time. The light show of the garden in the evening time really make people enjoy a lot. I will suggest to visit the vridaban garden in the evening time sothat you can enjoy the speciality of the garden.
The Tipu Sultan’s Grave is another beautiful place to visit in Mysore. There you can see and feel how wonderful was the architecture techniques of the Mogals at that time.
