Mysore Sandals

When I moved to Bangalore and settled in my apartment I went to a near by general store to buy groceries and I heard a woman demand “Mysore Sandals Beku” in Kannada. I was impressed that the store stocked shoes as well and made a quick note of where I could go if I needed a pair urgently. To my dismay the vendor bought a rather unattractive green packaged set of soap cakes and gave it to her. With my curious nature I asked for the lady’s permission and picked the pack to read the ingredients. That was when I realized that this was the product of a government-funded industry. I examined the price; it was a very expensive Rs.18 for a bar. In my mind I thought they seize the sandal from Veerappan, use the contents to make soap and price it so high. I wondered to myself what makes a middle class housewife buy this product in spite the price. The curiosity rose to the extent that I paid the chap at the counter 18 bucks and took home a bar. The same day I tested the soap during one of my long baths. It smelt heavenly and the feel was creamy. The whole bathroom was filled with the fragrance of sandalwood. For the next few days it refreshed me, I washed my hands and face ever so often that my oily skin turned to normal and then a little dry skin. I recommended it to my parents. My father suffered from this horrible allergy that made him sneeze all the time. He claimed that using the soap had reduced the allergy and managed to do what no medicine had done so far. After reading so far what do you think my rating should be, any guesses?
