Na Tum Jaano Na Hum, stars the green-eyed Hrithik, The Dream-girls daughter Esha Deol and the funny Saif Ali Khan.
The movie is directed by debutant Arjun Sablok, who hasnt done that bad nor that good!
Na Tum Jaano Na Hum is about Esha who requests her favourite song on the radio and Hrithik happens to hear that very same song and gets in touch with the radio station and asks for Esha to meet him at the actual stations building. In certain circumstances, Esha does not make it but leaves a letter for him with the dj. Esha and Hrithik decide that they will keep writing to each others post boxes; as they do not know each others name nor address. By this Hrithik and Esha think that they have found their friend and lover! Two in one hey!
Saif on the other hand who is Hrithiks best friend, is always partying with numerous girls; but his parents who struggle to find a decent girl finally find the one...no guesses for who it is...My God you are quicker than me...its Esha!!!!!!! Give yourselves a pat on the back it you got it right and if you havent then carry on reading!!
Hrithik is sent by Saifs mother to check the girl out on Saifs behalf-which is stupid because Saif can easily go with Hrithik...o well! Hrithik who is a photographer takes the advantage to take up the offer by Esha to do photo shoots for their family store.
As the story goes on, Esha finds out why Hrithik actual has come to Eshas place-for Saif that is. Esha tells her father about her pen-pal and how she wants to see him and if hes ok then marry him! This boring story goes on and it turns out that Esha has to marry Saif who falls for love at first sight when meeting Esha.
Hrithik later finds out that Esha is the one who he has been writing to and decides to leave, in fact he decides to go aboard-missing Eshas and Saifs wedding.
Just wait Iam coming to the end-Hrithik bumps into Saif four years later in a shopping mall and Saif finds out that Hrithik has always fancied Esha. Saif who has married a pervious girlfriend forces Hrithik to go to India and marry Esha...and yes its happy every after!...are you tired..because Iam...this flick was ever so boring!
The only highlights of the movie were Hrithik with Saif and the songs. The songs: Dil Leke... Jaa Sanam... and Betiyaan... are the best songs from the lot. My most favourite being Jaa Sanam.. But overall the music was not bad. I did not get the chance of watching Koi Mere Dil Se Pooche... which was Eshas first release; so I paid a lot of attention to see if she carries the Deol genes- sadly to say I do not think she was all that; she was just average.
And I dont think she has the good looks of her mother either, apart from the lovely eyes. And her dancing skills very not bad, I think she just needs more practise on Wester dancing and she will be fine.
But overall the movie reminds me of Sift Tum...by the letters and how they suddenly meet up in the end and even the third person getting involved in their relationship. The ending also reminded me of Chandani where the audience finds out that the third person does not marry the heroine in the end. So I thought it was a bit silly of the director making his debut with a repeated storyline, though he did mix it in with a bit of comedy. But there were some really stupid scenes, such as there is a scene where Esha falls drunk and makes a fool of herself as she cannot control her dancing. So Hrithik comes and tells her to follow his dance movements...and thunder strikes and Esha happens to dance completely perfectly!!!!! And there is also a bit where she did the dance movement before Hrithik...following him hey?
The movie could have done well, though it has an old storyline, if someone had actually paid attention to the whole flick! Only because of Hrithik and Saifs acting along with the three fair songs Iam giving this flick one star...otherwise I probably would give none!
