Celebrating Life!!!

The most busy filmmaker of Bollywood is Ram Gopal Varma. His ?factory? keeps on churning out new movies, and this time his latest Diwali release is ?Naach?.This one is a very different film, as all the RGV films, usually are.

The film is based on ?dance?, which is something very important in Bollywood films, but never has a movie been made, where dance plays its main hero.?Naach?, is one such film, whose hero is dance, and in this way, it is a very different film.Except than dance, there is also lots of skin-show, from RGV`s favourite heroine Antara Mali and of course the much hyped smooch between Antara Mali and Abhishek Bachchan.

When you will go to see the movie, you will not have much expectations from the film, but when you will start watching it, then you will realize that this movie has more than dance, skin-show and a smooch to it.

THE FILM:

K.Sera Sera/RGV productions. ?Naach?, directed by Ram Gopal Varma stars Abhishek Bachchan, Antara Mali and Ritesh Deshmukh. This is one of the Diwali releases this year, and RGV says that watching this movie is equal to celebrate life. So, while watching this movie, celebrate your life and your Diwali.

THE CHARACTERS AND PERFORMANCES:

1.Abhi(Abhishek Bachchan):Abhi is a young guy, who wants to be an actor, as he can act well, but he doesn`t know how to dance ; something which is very important for an actor to know.Abhishek Bachchan, has undoubtedly become one of the best actors the film industry has.Though, this is not such a character which demands him to display histrionics, but he has still done an excellent job, in such a difficult role.He is excellent in the scene, where he explains Rewa [Antara Mali], that she should not follow her own rules, but should agree to do the work which she has been given. After excellent performances in ?Yuva? and ?Phir Milenge?, he once again gives a wonderful performance.

2.Rewa(Antara Mali):Rewa is a very talented dancer, who dreams of being a choreographer, but as her approach towards dance is different, she doesn`t get a chance to do choreography for a film.Antara Mali, plays the main character of the film, and the film revolves completely around her.

The actress has handled such a difficult role, very well.It is not easy to play such a character, and for doing such a fantastic job, she deserves a pat on her back. She is excellent in the scenes, where she starts getting jealous from Abhi. She has done a very good job, in the scene, where Abhi tells her that she would not be doing the choreography for the film, she was to do, before. Finally, towards the climax, when she expresses her feelings to Abhi, she is brilliant.

With acting so well, she has also danced very well. The way she dances is simply amazing and she has one of the sexiest body, in Bollywood, so Mallika Sherawat should better be careful!

Ritesh Deshmukh as Diwakar, a music company boss and director, also supports well.He looks mature than before and his acting also reflects more maturity.Others don`t have much to do, but lend able support.

THE STORY:

?Naach? revolves around a girl called Rewa, who is a very talented dancer whose ideas and point of view towards dance is very different from what people usually think, dance is.She wants to introduce her type of dance to the whole world, and the best medium for doing so is definitely, Bollywood-the Indian film industry. So, she is a struggling choreographer. On the other hand, Abhi, is a struggling actor who can act very well, but doesn`t know how to dance.

So, both these wannabees meet each other in a film producer`s office, and later on talk to each other for the first time in a bus.The next day, Abhi gets to do a film, and the only thing which he remains to learn is ?DANCE!So, for learning dance, he contacts Rewa and asks her to teach him how to dance.Rewa, agrees to his request and then starts their story.

The same film director who gives Abhi his big break in the film industry as an actor, looks at Rewa`s dance, and decides to keep her as the choreographer. Both Abhi and Rewa are very glad, as both of them get a chance to work together for a film.

In the meantime, they also fall in love with each other, and start living together. One fine day, the director tells Abhi that the actress of the film, doesn`t want Rewa to be the choreographer, as she is not a known personality.A disappointed Abhi gives this news to Rewa, but Rewa doesn`t react much. Now, Abhi becomes a big superstar but Rewa, doesn`t get any chance to showcase her talent.

Later on, a producer calls Rewa and asks her to be the choreographer of his film, but on one condition-only if she convinces Abhi to be the actor in the film.Rewa`s ego is hurt and she doesn`t agree to his condition. When she tells this thing to Abhi, Abhi tells Rewa that she should not be so stubborn and should not bring in her ego, otherwise she will remain unemployed, throughout.Rewa starts hating Abhi, when he tells her so and she decides to show her worth to Abhi.

Luckily, she finds a director called Diwakar who understands Rewa, very well, so he makes a music video with rewa in it.Rewa becomes the talk of the town, with the success of her music video and so, Abhi starts getting jealous of her.

THE WORK OF THE CREW:

Ram Gopal Varma`s direction is good, and only a director of his caliber could do justice to such a film. There are some interesting moments in the film. The scene where Abhi tells rewa that she is out of the project she was assigned, is a very well executed one and RGV has managed to extract a wonderful performance from Antara Mali, in that scene. The best scene of the film is surely the one, where Abhi tells Rewa, that she is an unsuccessful person and that she should not be so stubborn. The scenes where Abhi starts getting jealous of Rewa are interesting and when he opts out of a project in which Rewa is also working with him, is a good scene.

Screenplay is average. The film tends to get very boring and slow, in the first half, and the film hardly interests the audiences.

Script is good and different. The film tells us all that how talented people are rejected by the film industry only because, they are not so successful and it also tells us about the dirty ?casting couch? virus which has hit the film industry, but there are some questions which remain unanswered.Firstly, it is shown that Rewa leaves her parents and shifts to Mumbai, but how does she manage to live in an apartment, without any income and afford such an expensive tape recorder, which is in her room. Also, how does she wear such expensive designer clothes.Secondly, Abhi becomes a very successful actor in the film, so easily. That doesn`t happen so!
