In this movie about the relationship between Abhinav(Abhishek Bachchan) and Reva(Antara Mali) Abhinav is an aspiring actor who asks Reva for help to improve his dancing skills. Reva is an independent and strong girl who is struggling to get her break in Bollywood as a choreographer.
I was pleasantly surprised by the first half of the movie, especially the character of Reva. She is strong, independent and talented. She wants to make an impact in the field of Bollywood choreography. She wants to make it on her own terms. Which other Hindi movie have you seen where the lead actress is listening to the song riders on the storm? I also love that her relationship with Abhinav has been portrayed in a mature way. No big declarations of love or shenanigans are shown, just two people exploring the city of Mumbai, riding buses. The way he tells her that when she achieves her dream he will be the one who is happiest. And she replies quietly, I know.
There is an arrogant and bossy character which seemed to me was inspired by choreographer Farah Khan.
Once Abhinav tastes success in movies, Reva is happy for him but doesnt allow him to recommend her name to directors and refuses to take advantage of his new found star status.
Please skip the songs. The actress is dressed in really weird and skimpy costumes. Riteish Deshmukhs acting is good but after he comes in the movie becomes a tedious love triangle. The movie becomes unwatchable after the scene where Abhinav and Reva break up.
