The unknown story before "Baby"

Naam Shabana itself drew attention when it first got its official trailer launched. People were already going gaga over Taapsee Pannu’s acting skills in Pink when she came with another bang. It is a spy thriller directed by Shivam Nair and produced by Shital Bhatia and Neeraj Pandey it is the story behind the making of one of the spy who later was involved in the Baby mission. Taapsee portrays the character of Shabana, a college student and a judo fighter. The film starts with two Indian agent working under Ranvir Singh(Manoj Bajpayee) chasing an international perpetrator Mikhail but instead gets killed by him. Then after a year Shabana is seen being followed by the agency as a potential recruit. During this time she looses her friend to a gang of goons who tease her and in the process kills her friend. She vouches for avenge and after that gets a call from the agency who tell her that they would help avenge her friend’s death and in return she has to work for them on a mission. She agrees and they take a test to see where she stands. She passes the test and then they help her take revenge in Goa. After that her training process is shown. Then she prepares for her final mission. It shows how she finally kills Mikhail that many of the agents could not do. The performances are no doubt great but this story missed that good element of suspense and thriller that Baby had. The story could be a lot more than it is. The music is good with Zinda hu abhi and Rozana hitting the chart busters. The cinematography is at par with the film. Overall it is a nice one time film to watch.
