Before placing order no. 4188376, amount Rs. 7491/- o n 12th June 2012 I had called Naaptol.com customer care to confirm that the ICICI bank EMI option would not mean excess processing fee charge for me. The customer care executive assured me that the processing fee is borne by Naaptol. The website also did not mention any processing fee to be paid if I chose the EMI option.
I was assured I would have to pay the processing fee but the EMI(9 months option from ICICI) would be of:
EMI=(Product price - Processing fee)/9 Therefore EMI should be Rs. 755/-
I called the bank to confirm the amount of the EMI. I was told it was was Rs. 832.36/- .
Which means I have been overcharged by Rs. 695/-(rounding off).
Proof:
My order summary screenshot which doesnt mention any charge above Rs. 7491.I have done another dummy transaction to display the fact that their system doesnt show any charge over and above the product price This is outright cheating and intentional mis-communication by the customer care.
All my calls to customer care and even escalation to CEO Manu Agarwal have gone unheeded so far.
What actions can I take against this fraudulent company? If anyone from media is reading this please contact me I can provide the proof and email communication.
