Nainital the city of Naini lake

Nainital is named from Naini Lake (in Hindi called as Tal). Naini Lake is surrounded by Nainital city and Nainital city by High raise Himalayan Mountains. If you are planning to go to Nainital then you have to first go to Kathgodam. You can reach Kathgodam from either by road or by train also there are some flights from Delhi. You have to start your road journey of approx 60 KM from Kathgodam to reach Nainital. Then you will reach in the City of Naini Lake. There is one small temple of Naini Devi at the bank of Naini Lake and after that there is small market of imported items. From here you can purchase some good colorful candles, but do not forget to bargain. I went there in month of July. That time there was heavy rain and land slides. So prefer to go in summers before rainy season. In Nainital food is little expensive due to high transportation charges. There you can go on top of mountain using ropeway and from there using telescope (installed on mountain top) you can watch indo china boarder, Governor House, etc… Next time I will plan to have a long weekend there. Its really one of the best hill station.
