I used Nair for a year or so about six years ago and had no problems with it--got the hair off and kept it off for a while, funny smell but easy to use and painless. I decided to try it again a few days ago and am sorely disappointed--this does not feel like the same product I used then!
Even though I’d used this before I dutifully did a patch test with no reaction, then the next day sat down to use it on my legs and bikini line. After three minutes I wiped off a small patch and found the hair wasn’t coming off, waited another five minutes before an uncomfortable tingling sensation began and I decided to wipe it off, leaving it on for a total of 8 minutes. Wiping it off my legs I was disappointed to find it only removed hair in a couple patches, most of the hair was still firmly in place. When I wiped it off my bikini line I was shocked when I began bleeding. There had been no sore, no scabbing, just healthy clean skin, but I was bleeding badly for a few minutes. There’s no hair on my bikini line now, but there is in its place a nice sore spot.
