The film starts off with a London girl - Jasmeet or ‘Jazz’, who doesn’t want to marry an Indian and is in love with her British boss!
Then there are her parents - Mrs and Mr Manmohan Singh and their family buddies Mrs and Mr Pervez Khan, whose son Imran Khan is best friends with Jazz. To look for a rishta for Jazz, the Singh’s go to India after ages. Now in India, the fun they’ve\ poked on Punjabis is quite a treat , here they meet Arjun with whom Jazz is quickly fixed up.
Watch out for the film for Akshay-Katrina chemistry, it is simply superb! I had liked them together in HUM KO DEEWANA KAR GAYE; and this time too they look great together! Akshay has delivered a splendid performance and proves that he is good with Action, Comedy and even Romance! Katrina looks very pretty indeed and she too has given his best to this film! NAMASTEY LONDON is not one of those usual romantic films. The clash of cultures, the widening gap between parents and kids, also racism -- judging someone by the color of the skin -- NAMASTEY LONDON tackles it all.
At the same time, it evokes patriotic feelings too! On the whole, NAMASTEY LONDON is a superior product that blends romance, drama and humor beautifully! Of course, Namaste London has its loopholes and some scenes are just randomly inserted; the dialogues are sometimes quite lame and repetitive. Since the World Cup 2007 is out of India’s reach this time, I can guess NAMASTEY LONDON is a good weekend watch!
