Namdhari was good. It is not anymore. It s atypical case of establishing a brand name and then taking people for a ride. The quality is average and the service is pretty much the same you would get if you are a prisoner in a jailThis evening was my fifth straight bad experience and I guess I will not be visiting this store again in the near future. The sales people have become quite unfriendly.
I once asked for my salad to be mixed (they served it in distinct layers) and the girl at the counter was quite rude in refusing to do so. Of late, the billing process has become cumbersome. It usually takes much longer to bill than to do a week’s shopping. This is when there are utmost three to four people at the billing counter. The following are the issues:
1) They do not have a working electronic billing system. It is a manual process. They write out the bills as if they are writing an autobiography.2) They take about 5 to ten minutes per person for billing. My vendor who comes hawking on the road everyday can give them a lesson or two in adding numbers!3) They do not enforce a single queue. I have had to use verbal force to have my items billed because the billing counter boys would gladly bill the items of a ’known’ person who would enter the line from the other side.4) They are generally rude with the customers when it comes to giving change.5) I Have repeatedly informed the manager of these issues and he has not taken any action so far
This evening, I had to undergo a traumatic experience of having a customer (friendly with your manager) use abusive language at my wife. This happened in front of the manager.
Quite a few locals in our neighborhood have stopped shopping at Namdhari and prefer the Heritage Fresh and Fresh that has opened at Malleshwaram 15th cross. They were loyal Namdhari customers before.
I guess Namdhari will join the ranks of Subhiksha and other failed brands...
