India's cheapest smartphone Rs.99. Another scam?

Freedom 251, supposedly India’s cheapest smartphone at Rs.251 which later turned out to be a scam, has a competitor - Namotel Acche Din - for Rs.99.

Name of the mobile inspired from the Prime Minister and his election campaign "achche din", its promote Madhav Reddy claims to be marketing "the world’s cheapest smartphone."

The phone is said to come equipped with a 4-inch display that runs Android 5.1 Lollipop, powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core processor along with 1GB RAM.

The website Namotel.com is currently inaccessible. However, reports claim the website to having slashed the price of mobile phone from Rs.2999 to Rs.99. The phone can be booked from the website starting May 17 to May 25. Cash on delivery option is also available and nominal charges will be levied.

Just like Freedom 251, Namotel Acche Din also promises to be a’Make in India’ smartphone. The device will be issued only to those with an Aadhar identity.

We know pretty much a lot about the Freedom 251 scam, and then there was also Docoss X1. They all follow the same pattern. Therefore, cannot be trusted. This has become the easiest claim to fame and a way to rip off consumers.

The image displayed on the website is also for "illustration purpose only" so we can expect another whiteout!(Remember what Freedom 251 did with Adcom?)
