Drive to Nandi Hills

I love driving, my usual way of taking a break off the busy day-to-day life is, go for a one day drive.

I live in bangalore the Silicon Valley of India or Asia There are plenty of places around bangalore to visit over a day, to mention a few are: Nandi Hills Sangam Kolar Talkad Mysore, there are plenty of places near by mysore Two weeks back I went to Nandi Hills, it’s about 70 Kms from bangalore.

The road which leads to nandi Hills is a National Highway which connects Bangalore & Hyderabad, there are also plans of constructing ’Bangalore International Airport’ on the same road near a place called ’DevenaHalli’ this place is about 40Kms from bangalore on the way to Nandi Hills, due to these reasons the road leading to Nandi Hills is awesome & I enjoyed a wonderful drive.

It was a pleasant saturday morning, I left home @ 10:00 & zipped through the Highway, I stopped in devanahalli for a small break & ca cup of chai (tea), and then continued my journey towards Nandi Hills. Exactly about 10 Kms from DevanaHalli you get a Left road which goes towards nandi Hills, It’s a single stretch road, and most of the road is good except for few pieces of rough patches.

On this road you see few people hear & there selling Grapes, they are really good fresh out of the garden around Nandi Hills. On the same road you get Nandi Resort which where you can stop by for food or plan a stay. Dead end of this road you get two deviations left goes to Nandi Hills (about 10kms) & right goes to a beautiful Historic Temple (2-4 Kms).

Took left & few meters away I see a new resort which has come up recently (forgot to mention this is my 6th visit to nandi hills) resort looks good with ultra modern facilities. From here you get a right which goes to nandi hills the ghat section is OK, except for 3 steep cuts rest of the section is pretty cool, I stopped by in two places to take few snaps, you get a great view from here. The entrance of Nandi Hills has an old historic wall with an open gate, I got down here & bought two tickets one for my car & one for myself, and from here I continued to the peak of Nandi Hills, reached there & parked my vehicle.

There are about 3 places which are visited, two temples (very old) & Tippu Drop, as the name suggests this was the place from where Tippu used to execute prisioners.Para Gliding facility is available for adventures guys.

One note: Food at nandi hills is not that good nor OK, my suggestion is either carry your food along or get down the hills & on the Highway take left & about a 1-2 Kms you get a dabha which serves good food More Details on Nandi Hills is available in these Websites: tourism-of-india.com/nandi.html https://hillresortsinindia.com/ nandi-hills.html
