*As my ratings depict, the movie is a good movie.
This is the first movie of Bobby Deol that I saw in the theatres, and i can say that I loved it.
It was a very sensitive, emotional, but not an entertaining movie.
The story tells us about faith and imagination which keeps us going in life.
And it is what that keeps the young jaisalmer too going in life in the hope that one day hell meet his dost, his best friend bobby deol.
The story is about a small boy of ten years oldnanhe-jaisalmer(tourist guide) who is a very big fan of BOBBY DEOL.Hes anAngootha-chaap, but speaks four foreign languages.
He dreamsabout him, his room is full of his posters, he sees every film of his, on the whole he lives and believes his dost.
He even makes his sister Suman write letter to him sharing all his news, his big battles and his little triumphs.
And one day, one fantastic day , he is informed that bobby is coming to jaisalmer to shoot for his next film.
In jaisalmer bobby meets this young boy, and both of them become very good friends.
In Bobbys charismatic company, Nanhe learns the precious lessons of life, friendship and the importance of education.
Nanhe Jaisalmer moves at a steady pace and manages to hold your interest level throughout. The climax sees an unexpected twist and is extremely interesting. Direction by Karniks is much improved this time. Himesh Reshammiyas music is a disappointment. Cinematography is wonderful. The locales of the Golden City of Jaisalmer have been shot beautifully.
*Nanhe Jaisalmer is a good movie, no doubt, but unfortunately it isnt convincing from a viewers point of view. And thats major because of the miscast in Bobby Deol.
Actually, Are there any Bobby Deol Fanatics out there? How many people can actually identify with Bobby as a huge star? The role was perfect for superstars like Shahrukh Khan or Hrithik Roshan. It would have taken the movie to a different level altogether.
