Ever wondered the feeling of always standing first in the class and not being appreciated by as many you would expect. I dont know about anyone but I am sure this Narain CoolCat Karthikeyan has ....
He has been driving fast cars and driving them very well for quite a long time but was never well supported or encouraged for doing that. Instead of appreciating his efforts at the lower level of racing, everyone expected him to touch the higher levels of Formula 1 which by the way is a lot harder than getting into the Indian cricket team (especially as you cant offer bribes in F1 ... you have to earn the reputation and sponsors money) ...
I am so proud of him as he kept all the patience and kept working real had towards his goal ... and VOILA ! made it to the amazing BIG, BAD WORLD OF FORMULA 1 ....
Seriously, have been following him for years and was waiting to hear this news ... and now I am going to have a great time following his successes in F1 for years to come (I am confident he is going to break the shackles and promote himself into the elite group of drivers soon).
Here is a short summary of his stay in F1 so far:
Australian GP, Melbourne: Being the resident of Melbourne, I had the luxury to go to the GP n chk out my idol first hand ... I have been to GPs before but Narains presence made it even more special .... Though luck favoured him a little bit witht he weather in the qualifications which helped him start the race in a better than I guess he hoped ...
Unfortunately, he didnt have the best of the starts but held along quite well with the rest of the competition and finished a classic 15th ... not too bad for a rookies first race, eh keeping in mind that in ythis race schuemy didnt get to finish the race ... achieved two aims : one to finish the race and the other above his idol michael schumacher
Malaysian GP , KL: Another race that was touted to be one of the hardest and usually experienced high number of accidents. It was considered to be good enough to even finish the race. Narain went into the race hoping to just finish the race as he knew gaining points will be quite difficult at this track ...
Though, he started on the 17th position at the grid which wasnt the best start in GP .... but he climbed his way up ... avoided all the circus going on the circuit ... and finished 11th ... I was relieved to c him finish the race ... as 6-7 drivers didnt including some real good ones
Well ... most of you who are not interested in F1 might find this boring to the core ... but all I want is the max support for this guy who has struggled for years to get to this point and needs all the encouragement and support ...
Pray for him that he win some races ... by reaching to the F1 he has done India proud enough, now lets see him grab some points and kick some butts out there.
Join me in saying this : NARAIN KI JAI HO ! F1 MAIN SADAA VIJAY HO
