Yeah, that should be the name of this channel. Although it is descended from the National Geographic magazine & hence borrows the name, the range of programs leave you panting for more. From the farthest stars to the nearest microbes, they cover everything. And everything in a frank, engaging manner without a hint of aloofness. To give an example, a white man on a Kerala backwater was speaking about the food on board with his fingers in a plate of rice & fish curry.
Whether he ate it later or not is immaterial, he managed to convey to even those Indians who eat rice with spoons that it was worth digging into with bare hands!
Secondly, the photography is superb. In programs like Seconds from Disaster, they give a short intro. after every break so that a fresh viewer can get the hang of the thing. What a contrast to some of our Hindi serials where instead of dignified words we find people making the most horrible grimaces (flaring eyes, snarls et al) by way of intro.
The day I miss watching Nat Geo is a day I lose some appetite!
