We four friends headed for Chickmagalur, 250 KM from B’lore. Completed booking at Nature Nirvana in advance, so as per the deal the pick-up Sumo was waiting at Chikmagalur bus stop. It was 1.5 hrs journey from there to our destination. Couldn’t make out much, as it was complete dark outside.
Nature Nirvana is a home stay in real sense. Most important part of NN are Kutty uncle’s hospitality, yummy food prepared by Elizabeth Aunty & Raghu - always at your service with a smile in its purest form conjured on his innocent face.
Those three days had just passed in a jiffy. Treeking to the lake, Gorge, to the sunset point &’nimbu pani’ after all these was just amazing. Must mention about Kutty’s driving to sunset point, it was a breath taking experience in that narrow road. Barbecue on every evening with the music was very relaxing.
The rooms are clean, well maintained. The garden is neatly looked-after. The best part is we didn’t have mobile signal there(it is available only for BSNL service provider), and that made us really away from the daily life. No ring tone, no message - only thing we could hear was of birds chirping & the small water stream. Rate wise, the place is reasonable. Less commercialization actually is helping NN to be midst of raw nature with all basic facilities. This place is ideal for a break from regular hectic life .
