I placed an online order for the Diwali hamper for a close family friend, After seeing such big ads in the tabolids and having Godrej as the parent company I thought it was a good decision only my horror, the basket that I had ordered was for Rs.3197 it had dark chocolate herbs, sauces etc and I got the shock of my life when I saw the basket it had only dry fruits which I had never ever ordered, I called up the customer service number and spoke to Deepa who on the next day Diwali seemed the only person working in the entire NB company was least bothered and told me she will get back to me in half an hour with the update, After waiting for 2hrs I called up again and got dear Deepa on the line who I could sense wanted to cut the call after hearing my name, told me delivery warehouse managers email team are not working for the day and she will not be able to give an answer why my order has being messed up, after much bantering she agreed to raise a ticket, that too she was insisting I would get after 10mins of cutting the call, after raising my tone she agreed to issue the ticket immediately and told me she would get back with an update at 4.30pm same day, I was 100%sure I would not get a call I called the CS center again at 5.30pm and a hesitant Sonal answered and on asking about Deepa she went on mute for more than 5mins and the Vivek the Team leader came on call saying Deepa has left for the day, And he could not help me with any answers has his team and mangers were not working for the day, promising that his manager will be calling the next day at 12 noon, I am yet waiting for their call.
In the meantime my mom happened to visit the Bandra NB store, and they realised it they had done the delivery to my place the store manger Gaikwad said as the products that I had placed order were Out of stock hence they sent alternate product, to my moms suprise the very same basket with product that I had placed an order was put on display.
Gaikwad convinced my mom we will refund the money after 4 days of you returning the basket and gave a small scrible copy too. without any letter head official stamp.this entire episode has left a sour taste in my mind about NB and I wouldnt advice anyone to ever shop from their stores or online. Also forgot to mention the basket was all open.and a cellophane paper was flying loosely.
