I watched the film NAWAB in the last weekend. I had a mixed response while watching this film. It is dubbed from the Tamil version. That is CHEKKA CHIVANTHA VAANAM directed by ManiRatnam sir.
Coming to the story,
The film starts with the murder attempt( Bomb blast) on Bhupathi( Prakashraj), a senior gangster. His eldest son Varadha( Aravinda swamy) is the right hand to him. Second son Thyagu( Arun vijay) is doing business in Dubai and third son is Rudra( Shimbu) is an illegal weapon dealer in Serbia. All are busy with their illegal businesses. These two brothers coming from Foreign to India to find out the culprit and why did attacks on his Father?
Thence, the emotionless life journey starts together with these three brothers.

Coming to the Characters,
There is no Hero and Villian in this film. The situations play a major role between the characters.
Aravinda swamy looks aggressively with stubborn attitude in his role.
Vijay Arun is in the role of a wise business man with cunning attitude.
Shimbu looks Stylish and stunning dialogue delivery.
Vijay sethupathi is a close friend to Aravinda swamy and he played a vital role in some various sequences as a police man. We enjoys alot from his funny dialogues.
Jyothika perfectly suits her character as Aravinda swamy’s wife. she impressed with her daring and straight forward attitude.
Prakash raj, Jayasudha, Tyagarajan, Aditi Rao, Diana yerrappa and Aishwarya Rajesh were played their roles naturally.
Plus points:
Huge star cast.
Variety gangster drama.
Background score.
Natural scenes.
Minus point:
Songs.
Slow narration.
Weak second half.
Tamil Nativity.
Some boring scenes.
Technical aspects:
The director Maniratnam, perfectly designed each and every strong role with cunning and full of negative shades.
Once again he proved with his daring attempt. Hats off to Mani sir.
Music by A.R.Rehman’s background score helps to this film alot. His songs were in the part of the narration and not so catchy. But especially I likes BHAGA BHAGA and NEELI KANUMALLO songs very much.
Nice aerial shots and natural locations captured by the Cinematographer Santosh Shivan.
Producers believed the Brand value of the Director Mani and blindly followed him.
In my opinion,
The suspense drama suddenly revealed by Vijay Sethupathi at the climax. And film ends with the title of OPERATION RED SKY. There is some scope to elevates and improvise some scenes to end this film. For this reason I disappointed and Iam not much satisfied with the ending scene.
That is the main complaint from me.
Finally,
This film is a throne fight of three gangster brothers and it is only for movie lovers and ManiRatnam fans.
