Dr. Udayan Dixit is a senior ophthalmic surgeon and I visited his clinic with my father to seek his guidance for cataract surgery. We were told to come to the clinic between 1 pm and 2 pm. We reached at 1 pm and then had to wait for almost 2 hours for the consultation. I’m not sure about the reason for the delay - we certainly didn’t get any explanation.
But I guess some doctors don’t mind how much time we spend waiting for a consultation - that’s why we are called patients.:-)
Also though we get an "appointment, " it’s not really an appointment, most of the time, some patients are called at the same time and it’s first come, first served.
I do wish senior doctors like Dr. Dixt would be more considerate. My father is almost 80 years old and diabetic and it was hard for him to wait for so long. So if you plan to consult him, be mentally prepared to wait for a while.
(The consultation fee is Rs. 600.)
