Nayee Padosan....Nayee BORING film!!!

Neha Arts ’’Nayee Padosan’’, produced by Nitin Manmohan and directed by a choreographer B.H Tharunkumar stars some new and fresh faces:Rahul Bhatt, Anuj Sawhney, Aslam Khan, Vikas Kalantari and Mahek. The film is said to be a remake of the old film ’’Padosan’’.It is a light-hearted comedy but fails to entertain. The reasons are plenty, first read the story.

A young girl, called Pooja(Mahek)with her family shifts in a new locality. She is down-to-earth, intelligent, sweet and attractive. She has it all, what a boy wants but what if THREE boys want the same girl? Here we have three boys who lve this ONE girl:

1.Raja(Aslam Khan):Raja loves music and wants to be a musician.Pooja is also his collegemate and in a music competition, Pooja scores over him. That is when, he falls in love with Pooja.According to him, Pooja is his music.

2.Ram(Vikas Kalantari):Ram wants to be an actor and comes to Mumbai to reach his destiny.Pooja is his neighbour and he wants to make Pooja his girlfriend because a PANDIT tells him that he will become an actor only if his girlfriend`s name starts with ’’POO’’.Who else, but Pooja is that girl.

3.Raju(Anuj Sawhney):Raju is a hard-working and a simple guy who is also the neighbour of Pooja. The very first time he looks at her, he falls in love with her.

A competition begins among these three young boys and that is, ’’WHO WILL SUCCEED TO GET POOJA?’’What if a fourth person enters in this story? Here we have a 4th person! This 4th person is a Tamilian and his name is Prabhu(Rahul Bhatt).Everyone in Pooja`s family and Pooja herself like Prabhu. These 3 guys start hating this person, because he is very close to Pooja.Pooja starts liking Prabhu more because of his excellent classical singing. What about the three boys?Who will get Pooja? What about Raju? What about Ram`s wish to be an actor? What about Raja`s music?

An unknown fact about this film is that the name of this film was to be ’’RAM RAJU RAJA’’and that`s not it.It also had to star Govinda, Ajay Devgan and Jackie Shroff, falling for Manisha Koirala.Yes!All these oldies were going to star in this film but the cast was changed and here we have have more young and fresh faces.

THE DIRECTION AND THE WORK OF THE CREW:

Former choreographer B.H Tharunkumar`s direction is good and as a debutante director, he does fairly well but the film gets dragged and repetitive. The film bores the audience after sometime because the film gets dragged and for a long time the story remains the same and there is hardly any change in the story. No twists and turns.Comedy is rib-tickling but after sometimes it get irritating. One thing which will get into our minds is that ’’DON`T THESE THREE YOUNG BOYS HAVE ANY OTHER THINGS TO DO EXCEPT FOR ALWAYS THINKING OF POOJA’’.In todays times, everyone is so busy that one doesn`t have enough time to think about a girl, always.Everyone has to make his life and struggle so the characters are not believeable, because they are always after one thing called ’’POOJA’’.Ikram Akhtar`s story is not so attractive because everyone now wants to see something new and the script lacks freshness.Ikram Akhtar`s screenplay is also weak. The film gets boring after sometime, mainly because of the weak screenplay.K.Rajkumar`s cinematography is excellent! His camera movements, matches the mood of the film.Dialogues are also superb and they make the comedy rib-tickling.Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy`s music is a positive aspect. Two songs, especially, which are ’’Saari Saari Raina’’and ’’Mera Mann’’are great and their picturisations are also a treat to the eyes.

And now the performances!:

Rahul Bhatt after his disastrous debut ’’Yeh Mohabbat Hai’’comes back and he is hairless, this time.He acts very well, in this film and has become a more confident performer. He looks good in the role of a Tamilian.

Vikas Kalantari reminds me of Aftaab Shivdasani, because of his looks, face expressions and dialogue delivery.Though, I must say, he should improve his dialogue delivery, because it`s not crisp and a torture to our ears.

Aslam Khan, is just fine, not TOO great and not TOO bad.

Anuj Sawhney makes a confident debut and succeeds with a decent performance.

Newcomer Mahek is excellent as a debutante, though she needs to polish up her acting skills, but we have to give her a chance. This week she will have to face a tough competition with the sex goddess Mallika Sherawat of Khwahish.

On the whole:

Nayee Padosan is boring but is a good time-pass.I don`t think that you will be so bored that you will HAVE to see this film. There are many better things to do than watching this film.First half is somewhat tolerable but second half gets TOO much.It is entertaining at places, and for those small entertaining moments, you can see this film otherwise, there is no point to see ’’Nayee Padosan’’.

DON`T love thy neighbour!!!
