I have been watching NBA games for a long time now. I am hooked on the hoopsters, so to speak. This year’s season has ended and the play-offs have begun and it promises to be a super climax.
Jordan is out and so are some of the other former stars. But then, the new breed of professional basketballers, mostly African Americans, are as exciting to watch in action. The supreme athletic abilty and the sheer professionalism exhibited night after night by the NBA players is matchless in the world of sport. Right from the 7 feet plus Shaql O Neal of the LA Lakers to the spectacular 6 feet something Alan Iverson of the Sixers, the Bryants and the Garnetts, they all can literally dazzle any basketball buff.
I specially like the nick names the top players are given. Air (Jordan), deisel (Shaq), Mailman (Malone) atc. The coaches too are given superstar status and deservedly too. You can never predict who will win in a close NBA game, even if there is only a second left to play!
My advice is, do not miss any game of the play-offs which we get to see, sometimes live, on ESPN Star Sports.
