Imagine this.... you are climbing a mountain.... you reach thepeak..... but u are not satisfied and keep walking, without realizingthat there is no other side of the peak, all there is, is a sheer drop, and u fall right over..... takes u what, a few seconds to hit theground? well, experienced something like that today.... There he was, playing sublimely, once he crossed his 50. TheMaster at work again. Hit a six and 13 fours...got his famous paddlesweep out of the closet after a long long time... (probably the3rd most beautiful site in cricket, after his cover drives and straightdrives)... reached the nervous nineties with 3 consecutive fours, allof them different strokes on the offside.. but he raced through toone short of his 35th with little problem.. but, the Lankans weren’tgoing to hand him the record that easy... fernando and vaas kept himon 99 for a few balls, with one outside edge, dropping just short ofslip. But it was the Little Master’s day... pushed a Vaas delivery tosquareleg to reach that peak, which the nation, nay, the world had beenwaiting for since last december.. and for that moment, Kotla stadium, without doubt became the noisiest place on this planet..
There, I was on the peak too! along with all the Indians and cricket lovers all over... and then... went to a movie with a few friends.... was still on the peak.... then 8 o’clock struck... and the movie began....impressively, with a panoramic Canadian landscape and very nicemusic... and then, disaster struck!! jesus!! Man! you kinda start asking, where in hell did the Uday of Dhoomgo??? and Kajol’s l’il sis, Tanisha... well, she sure thinks cool andsexy means shrieking and shrieking her dialogues out, most of the time, ekdum drunk and incoherent.... does she need to consult a dictionaryfor meanings of cool and sexy or what!! No story.... seems the movie was just made to let the ppl knowthat Uday Chopra is still alive, but not kicking... and that Kajol hasa sis named Tanisha..... Gurneal Ahluwalia, (yea, thats Neal’s actual name...) is set towed a Bhatinda babe, so he goes on a 21 day bachelor vac tovancouver... and from here starts the constant show of firang chicksand their B ’n’ B’s.... (Busts ’n’ Butts) in tiny bikinis and Nealssaucer sized eyes and gaping mouth, with Tanisha somewhere inbetween..... Seems the B ’n’ B’s are supposed to ’hide’ (ha ha!!) the fact that there is absolutely no story... The guy wants to sleep with as many girls as he can beforemarriage. The girl helps him with the emission… sorry, mission... blahblah blah!! Haven’t seen more attempts at humour fall flat in one movie.... thankfully its just 1 hr 40 mins.... even before the movie is halfway, u know its a goner.... (especially with just some 20 of us in theprime time show in the theatre on the second day of release) 2 things stand out, tho... Salim-Sulaiman’s music... had expected better background score(but for that, u need something in the movie, huh?)... but the songswere pretty cool... the title track is a hit, everyone knows that, eventhe bar song’s a hit... but the ones which havent been shown on thetrailers arent bad at all... a punjabi song with english chorus, anenglish song, a hinglish song... its got it all.... not the usualYashraj masterpieces by any standard, but enough, I guess to see themovie through its first weekend..... the second was the cinematography... The Director of Photography, P. S. Vinod has made full use of the Canadian landscape and gives uspretty stunning frames..... makes u want to plan a vacation to Canada!
but these two don’t kinda cover up for the faltooness of the movie.... bottom line, ppl, no need to go and watch it.. you wont be missing anything..
