’’ No two things ‘can be’/’can be made’ similar in this world ’’ If you remember this universal rule and still want to go for replicating things then you should understand that you will end up doing something below standard or something which is superior and worth replicating the original. I interpret this as reason why people started doing things, which are new or involve out of the box thinking in their work in tern giving birth to virtues called ’creativity’ and ’originality’ which I think should be inherent qualities of showman.

Few years back somebody went ahead making ‘DDLJ’, one of the jewel of Indian film history and with that launched two superstars in making, that somebody is clever enough to understand the above facts but not brave enough to forget family sentiments; Now he wants to use same platform, same resources, same brand and same goodwill to launch another star (not so bright but from his own family) ; that’s how I will narrate the sad story of birth of N & N.
Yashraj Films’ latest candy caper, Neal ’N’ Nikki caters to the yuppie palate, like they successfully did in recent times, with Hum Tum and Salaam Namaste.Only this one doesn’t feature any hotshots. Weak Plot !!
Neal (Uday) gives in to his parents’ wishes of marrying Sweetie, from Bhatinda, on the condition that he gets to live it up on a 21-day bachelor vacation in Vancouver.
But the spunky Indian girl, Nikki Bakshi (Tanisha), ruins this date and many others afterwards. Despite hating each other, Neal and Nikki become “fun buddies”; a curious something ( I dont know what ) ignites between them. The bubble soon bursts, when Neal realises Nikki has been using him, then follows the typical Indian happy ending.
As I left the theatre I left the movie there itself .
All the fun, the great Yashraj chemistry, and charisma of the stars was missing !! (Whats left now) mainly the plot on which the movie is being taken is so weak that it could’nt carry on it ( Remember there is no SRK here ). It was not surprising that it left heavy dose of responsibility on stars to carry it which was too much to ask from these newcomers.
I think Chopra’s should get up to the fact that they are into Entertainment business not into any family business.
One relieving thing about the movie is ’Halla Re’ , a little woody and with a dash of spice, Shweta Pandit’s sexy rendition of this no holds barred semi-qawaali makes for a foot-tapping hearing.
My Verdict: ’’ All Biology, No Chemistry; very soon N&N will be history.’’
