Neel is a very pricey, open air restaurant located at 80 Feet Road, RMV 2nd Stage. Dhal Makhni is Rs 180/-plus taxes, ..if you still want to consider, read on.
Parking: Valet is available, but poorly managed.
Ambiance: Decor is cheap, pre 80s. An amalgam of highway dabha and cloak rooms at railway stations. There a few “Huts” with 2-3 tables and a big dining halls. Furniture, Cutlery, Serving dishes are all pretty ordinary. Seating is not couple friendly. Not air-conditioned. Mosquito bytes are not particularly enjoyable.
Menu: Serves Veg, Non-Veg and Alcoholic. Chinese and North Indian fares dominate the menu.
Service: Staff are ill informed and inattentive. .
Food: Simply put " It Sucks". Neither the peckish or the ravenous kind could enjoy. Since I couldnt believe the prices, jumped to main course skipping starters, Ordered chili garlic noodles and veg balls in garlic gravy. Noodles looked and tasted as if it was made a day before and microwaved mercilessly. Veg balls tasted like erasers and all very too hot.
Veg Biryani had only few long grains, and no authentic flavors. The quality of the food does not reflect the obscene prices. Meal for two will set you back by Rs 1500/- without drinks for food worth 200 max. Once you are out of the restaurant spending 1500, you feel like you had an ordinary meal in a non-punjabhi highway dhabh and lost Rs1300/- while you hung around.
Verdict:
Avoid it, do a favor to the community. Lets patronize only those who bring value. Neel is neither a boutique restaurant that provides exceptional service and great ambiance nor the food is exotic and tasty. It’s a very ordinary restaurant with a unreasonably pricey menu. The restaurant is trying to exploit the non-availability of any other restaurants in that area which serves similar food.
