NetAddress has decided to cater to only those customers who pay, rather then all people.
Many of sites nowadays have gone for this approach. Unimobile, XDrive, JFax are other such sites.
Many of the sites do offer, some services free, but most of them charge for additional services. Even Yahoo and Hotmail come under that. They are somehow managed to generate their share of income thru banner ads etc. But it seems that NetAddress was not much satisfied with that.
I am sure, NetAddress is not the last company to do that. May more will follow suit. Think about this, if you wish to search on yahoo, you may have to pay for it, for using their services.
So one more gone. I guess now we will have to depend more on ISP mails (Your VSNL.com, Satyam.net.in accounts) rather then free mails. Since ISP Prices have dropped considerably, you can manage to have a POP3 account with an ISP, rather then using sluggish WebMails.
So, as they say, It is money that counts. Use it if you can pay for it. Indian people, stick to your ISP mail, it is cheaper.
