There was a recent news that the Govt. is planning to increase the airport tax at the Indra gandhi International airport New Delhi. This will be an additional leavy due to CONGESTION at the airport runway. Well dear readers this is the waht the Government is capable of. They have no brains to find ways and means to reduce thiese congestion points, except for tax the travellers.
If you see the current situation, the passange is already taxed heavily. What ever price range of Ticket you purchase, the govt. takes away 975 to 1125 ruppes per passanger depending on the airline you travel. This is what the airlines say. How much they pass on, or keep with them no one knows. now from each passamger the Govt is taking this booty. Now if 1, 00, 000 passanges are travelling every day then the govt is collecting 10 crores every day as thier booty in the name of airport taxes. now where they are spending this money they only know.
The facilities at the airport are the worst. Today the irport is more of the Interstate Bus Terminus than an airport. Reason is that we indians are very submissive. We accept what is leavy on us. we need to raise the voice and be heard.
Have we ever tried to reason that the airlines are reducing the fairs to capture the passnager traffic. they are coming out with schemes of rupee 1 per ticket, but the govt. is eating away all this. the final cost of the One Rupee ticket is 1126/- and not One Rupee. We get happy that we giot One rupee ticket, but finally we pay 1126/-. 1125 /- goes to the government for providing us with choked airports, choked roads, dirty bathrooms, poor airconditoning, poor baggage handling and what not. The worst part is delayed flights. We are accepting all this. We need to take up strongly with the airport authority, the Minister who is sitting in his airconditioned office and using the best of services. For him dleay does not matter as he is habbitual of being late to meetings. it does not matter to him as the organiser of the meeting has to wait for him.
lets all get togather and call a strike for one day, the on which we will not travel at all. if the Govt. there aslo does not mend its ways then we decide to call it for more days. This is how we can make them hear to our vows.
the govt. has available resources, where they can use the facilities at Safdarjang airport for small aircrafts. earlier this was the only airport where even the international flights were coming. Whay not the domestic flights with smaller planes can land and take off from here. this will ease out congestion.
then the govt. should make it compulsary for the star airlines to chnage their aricrafts to CAT III facilities so as to be able to land in FOG conditions.Those airlines which do not have these parameters may not be allowed to land or take off.
