I visited India back in the January of 2006 and was very happy with the food and the service and so was the restaurant. However on my recent trip i.e. in February 2008 I found the place totally disappointing. The food, the cleanliness, the decor everything was now reduced to pile of dust and old furniture.
The food tasted real bad. We were seated on the 2nd level and it was very claustrophobic and dark, you can’t even stand straight. The service was equally bad. Not just once (I think everything should be given a chance atleast twice, anyone could be having a bad day) so, I went there twice...but I was not so surprised as nothing had changed.
The waiters and servers just stand around and have to be called for everything they won’t simply understand your gesture that you need something. I rather go and have pav-bhaji at the street vendor or the "Thela" atleast they do acknowledge the customer happily. For sure...I am not going back.
