New York, New York! Its a wonderful town..
Thats how the song goes.......and you know what!
They are correct!
Just came back from visiting my daughter, she lives
on Long Island, about 50 miles out of the City...
Four of us women , took the train into the City
for a day of adventure..
It took about Two and 1/2 hours on the train to arrive in New York City.
We arrived at Penn Stationand walked
to the nearest Subway Station.
We bought Tokens to enable us to use the Subway, but discovered later,
it is better to buy a ~One day Pass~ for $4.00.{Much cheaper that way.}
We took two trains to get us to our destination, Canal Street
Canal Street, is a wonderful Hubbub of Street Vendors,
selling everything from Sterling Silver Jewelry, to Watches.
to Sunglasses, Clothes, Videos, and much.. much..more...
Next we went onto China Town what a wonderful place!
Store after store, with tables spilling out onto
the sidewalks, full of goods for sale.
All cheaper than can be purchased in regular stores..
Chinese Goods, Jade, more watches(Fake Designer names)
More Sterling, and more and more of everything!....
Plus that wonderful Chinese Food..Mmmmm.....
We then went onto the Dockside, Fulton Fish Market
There is a large Boardwalk with a Large Mall, lots of
nice shops and Restaurants, stacked high up,
as is the style of all the High Rise Buildings
that New York is famous for!
After checking out the Old Sailing Ships, that were
anchored in the Harbor, we walked across the street to
check out the street Performers!
One Man was completely covered in Silver Paint,
standing still, as if he were a Statue!
Drop a dollar into his box on the ground,
and he comes alive and shakes your hand!
Fabulous Body Control!...
Other performers were playing Instruments,
others doing Mimeetc..etc...
We then checked out the area named Soho
where some of the Rich and Famous have apartments..
We saw some really expensive Stores, but no Famous People..
Well you all know, about the more than 50 or so Museums,
and the Statue of liberty, and Central park,
and the World Trade Center..
All of those places are wonderful sights to be seen!
And lets not forget Broadway!
I have been to those places before, This time I decided
to do something different!
Check out the Streets and the wonderful people....
And I will tell you that New York is a Fabulous place to Visit,
People from all over the World, Live and work here,
and get along with each other!
It is not a scary place to be, everyone we met was
very friendly, and helpful...
And we needed help, as we did get lost a couple of times
taking the underground Subway!
If you ever get the chance, Go stay in New York
and take in its wonders..
It will be the Adventure of a lifetime..
