New York In Mumbai!

New Yorker at Chowpatty in Mumbai is one good restaurant!

I don’t know why hitenrmehta, the other mouthshut member reviewing it has given it such an unfair review!!!

New Yorker is a fabulous restaurant and a pioneer in serving new cuisines

to Mumbai city. The menu here has been planned in such a way so as to serve

the food that’s popular in New York city! And that definitely includes Mexican food! The slightly sweetish tinge appeals to the Indian palette

and is not at all like eating Gulab Jamuns or Chocolate Pastries as our other reviewer has made it seem like! The cheese on the pizzas here are definitely chewy because the chefs have used Mozarella i.e. the authentic cheese to be used on Pizzas and not some crummy Indian brand that burns or dries in the oven! Mozarella is a gourmet’s delight! Bandar Kya Jaane Adrak Swad!!!

The menu here is strictly vegetarian but that hasn’t kept away the hordes of non-vegetarians too who throng here!

The Pizzas here are yummy! The Onion Rings are crisp and scrumptious! And the Baked Potatoes and Nachos simply out of this world! There are some cool milk-shakes too and neat selection of deserts to polish your meal!

While you wait for your food to be brought to your table, a unique table mat is placed before you with a pencil! Its a huge sheet of puzzles and mind bogglers for you to solve in the meanwhile!

The menu has been designed to cater to kids special needs too. A few of the kids favorite items have been grouped together as a single platter and sold at a fairly reasonable price. But you have to be a kid to order this !

The ambience here is trendy and perky and very American DEFINITELY NOT how our other reviewer describes it! This place is a favorite haunt for everyone be it college kids, posh business executives, family crowd, kids’ birthday parties and romantic couples!

This place has become so popular that the owner has opened another restaurant with a similar theme just a few metres away on the same street.

The place is generally crowded and you’ll have to wait for a while before you get a table. But then, that’s a small price you have to pay to get some truly good food!
