For quite sometime now in my house its become a tradition that after a particular time in the night we all sit and watch News9. Its a channel which shows us all the latest happenings around Karnataka. The show is mainly in English while some of the interviewed people speak in Kannada so apart from that anybody who doesnt know Kannada can easily catch what they are saying. The translation of what they say is also mentioned in the side so the non kannada speaking people will have no problem either.
They have various programs on their show which interest different people. For example some tend to the civic problems faced by people while at night the popular "Wanted" program is always watched by my dad where they showcase murders in a very dramatic fashion.
There have a few set of reporters who they keep shuffling and seem to do their job pretty well. It is also quite commendable that they managed to get this show running so well despite having started it only recently.
One fumble which I recall clearly seeing on television was when one of the presenters who was talking on screen during the "Wanted" program while talking about one of the murder cases, suddenly stops looks behind the cameraman and says "Ayye move side ra!".
I was laughing my guts out! Now I dont think its very wrong for the presenter to have said that because Im sure things like that happen. But I was surprised that THEY DID NOT CUT THAT SCENE OUT. It wasnt even a live show that they couldnt skip it, it was a recorder program. So I assume they carelessly left that part. I hope the editors can keep a keen eye out next time:P
All in all, its a channel which keeps us up to date with Bangalore and the surrounding areas and also manages to entertain us with the realities out there.
