Lets come straight to the point since I got a lot of things to say. Don’t worry I will not disclose the story, not even a minute part of it. But I will definitely talk about the good and bad factors in the movie.
Anushka, who had not pleased many of the Youngistani Indian audience so much till date, also looks tremendously desperate in the entire movie to make a space in Indian audience’s hearts. She is the only lead role in the movie and the entire story revolves around her and only her. I mean, if you want to tell a story, reasonable amount of light should be thrown on other characters also, which did not happen in this movie.
This definitely was a huge try to take bollywood to hollywood’s level, but if you want to do that, you should take smaller steps first. Had this story been a hollywood movie, Indian audience definitely would have appreciated it, but we are used to seeing happy endings in every or almost many bollywood movies, hence many people were not very happy at the end of the movie. This also took away appreciation coming in the way of Anushka. Though she has acted her best in this movie, in all of her career.
It is a low budget movie, seems to be shot in north India, and does not involve any item song, which has become an integral part of every movie releasing these days. This proves that the movie was definitely a try to copy Hollywood movie patterns. Also, I did not like the story much because some portions of the movie were very depressing or you can rather say very aggressive. It either boils your blood or makes you feel extremely sad about the facts of your country.
I am the kind of person who will invest in going to good cinemas to watch good movies in expectation of getting entertained, rather than feeling depressed. The least that I expect from any of such movies is a good/happy or positive ending, and this movie did not have any of the three.
This movie is definitely for the soft hearted or the “paisa vasool” public. Good efforts by Anushka, but thumbs down because it was not introduced in the right market.
