Well, I finished Mech engineering in 2007 and I was jobless until 2008. My uncle was also in the situation before, meaning, he finished Comp Engg in 2005 and was jobless until 2006 but later got a job with a big IT company.
NIIT - Jadavpur - Kolkata how they directed me: So I asked him how, he said, he joins Java at NIIT, Anna Nagar, completed the course with good results and therefore got a job with that IT company. So he suggested me to do Dot net course because even thou I was Mechanical, the IT industry was on boon, so if I do Dot net which is much easier than Java, I too would get a better job.
NIIT - Jadavpur - Kolkata such a long process:So Listening to him I decided to do Dot net. But since I was Mech, I had no idea or basis of that course. So I would have to start from C. And then do C+ and then Dot net.
I did my C course at Tambaram, well it didn’t go well but I only could understand a little.
But everyone told me that if I do C+, I would get every doubt cleared. So after doing C for 6k. I decided to do C+ and dot net and NIIT Adyar. so first I went to the counselor there to clear my doubts that me being a Mech Engg will I be able to understand and clear C+ and Dot Net! And they said, "It was too simple that even a diploma can clear all these!". I also asked them about the recruitment and they said 100% Guaranteed Placement for sure!
So I paid about 10K for C+ and 16K for Dot net and joined the course.
NIIT - Jadavpur - Kolkata they didn’t explain anything no extra efforts:One day passed, 2 days then 2 weeks but I could not understand even a single thing. All I did was, just visit the center, listen to their lecture, talk with friends and leave!
At the end of the course, I only could understand about 20% of the course and come to the exams and I failed intensively.!
NIIT - Jadavpur - Kolkata too less than expectedAt the end, of course, all I got was a Certificate for doing the course and nothing more.
Wastage of time+ money So, finally, what happened was I lost about 20k plus traveling but no results at all!
I was not even given placement assistance!
All this happened bcoz of wrong counseling by the NIIT officials. If they would have told me that "I won’t be able to clear Dot net because I have basics, I would have saved a lot of money and would have concentrated with my Mechanical field.
Now I not only lost money but also precious time.!
So, overall, Join NIIT only if ur a computer engineer. Otherwise, u won’t be able to understand the course and waste your precious time!
